Overview

Growtopia is a 2D sandbox MMO created by the indie developers Robinson Technologies and Hamumu Software and run by Ubisoft since 2017. It left beta on January 9, 2013, and is available on Android, iOS, Windows and Mac, with a Steam release in 2024.

Almost everything in the game grows from seeds. Players break blocks to collect seeds, plant them to grow more items, and splice seeds together to discover new ones. Each player can create and lock their own worlds, then fill them with builds, games, shops and parkour courses that others can visit.

Trading drives much of the community, since rare items carry real value inside the player economy. There are also quests, events, achievements and PvP minigames. The game is free to play, with gems earned in play or bought for real money to use in the store.
