Sky: Children of the Light

Peaceful social MMO from the makers of Journey where players fly through seven realms, make friends and share light.

Overview

Sky: Children of the Light is a social online adventure from thatgamecompany, the studio behind Journey. It came out on iOS in July 2019 and later reached Android, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Windows.

Players fly through a fallen kingdom split into seven realms, each built around a stage of life. There is no combat. Instead, players solve light puzzles, find spirits who teach emotes and give cosmetics, and collect winged light that lets them fly farther. Strangers start out anonymous; holding hands, gifting candles and unlocking friendship upgrades lets players chat and travel together.

The game is free to play. Candles can be earned in play or bought, and new seasons bring story chapters, returning spirits and cosmetics, some tied to a paid season pass. A separate version for mainland China is co-published by NetEase.
