Clash of Clans is a mobile strategy game from the Finnish studio Supercell, released on iOS in 2012 and on Android in 2013, and later made playable on Windows. Each player runs a fantasy village with a Town Hall at its center.
The loop is to collect resources, upgrade defenses and buildings, train troops and spells, and attack other players' villages to take their loot. Attacks are short and scored in stars; your own base is defended automatically by its layout while you are away. Upgrades take real time, so most players check in several times a day. A second Builder Base offers its own head-to-head mode.
Clans of up to 50 players donate troops to one another, fight in Clan Wars and Clan War Leagues, and build a shared Clan Capital. The game is free to play, with gems and a monthly pass sold to speed things up.
