A horse-breeding and equestrian-center management game from Owlient and Ubisoft, played in the browser and on mobile.
Howrse is a horse-breeding simulation created by the French studio Owlient and published by Ubisoft, which bought the studio in 2011. It launched in the browser in 2005 and runs in many languages through regional sites, with mobile versions for iOS and Android.
Players run an equestrian center and care for horses from more than 50 breeds, keeping them fed, groomed and healthy while training them in disciplines such as racing and show jumping. Horses age as they are played, and breeding to improve genetics and build strong bloodlines is the long-term goal. Competitions let horses earn money and standing, and players also manage the center's facilities.
Horses and items are sold between players, and clubs and forums give the community a place to meet. The game is free to play; passes bought with real money pay for cosmetic changes, skill boosts and other extras, and can be exchanged for the in-game currency, equus.
