Overview

Subeta is an independently run virtual pet site that opened in September 2004. Members adopt pets from a wide range of species, customize them, and dress a human avatar with clothing and costume items.

Daily play mixes dailies, gardens, quests, minigames and pet battles with exploration of the site's world. Players can open their own shops, take part in auctions and trades, and hunt for items through the item directory and wishlist tools, so a player-run economy sits at the center of the game. Achievements and collections give long-term goals.

The forums are a major part of the site, and the team presents Subeta as a human-run community without algorithmic feeds. The game is free to join; a cash shop, custom wearables and paid Gold Account memberships fund it, and ads are shown to free accounts.
