Overview

Forge of Empires is a city-builder in which a small Stone Age village grows into a metropolis as you research technologies and advance through historical ages toward the future. It runs in a web browser and on iOS and Android with the same account.

Day to day, players collect production from buildings, manage goods and population, research the next era and expand into a campaign map. Battles are turn-based on a hex grid, or can be auto-resolved. Great Buildings, which neighbors and guild-mates help level up, provide long-term bonuses, and players trade goods and help each other's cities.

Guilds take part in Guild Battlegrounds and Guild Expeditions, competing for territory and rewards. The game is free to play; diamonds bought with real money speed up construction and unlock premium buildings and expansions.
