Overview

Grepolis puts players in charge of a city on one of hundreds of islands in an ancient Greek world. Cities produce wood, stone and silver, train land and sea forces, and win favor from gods such as Zeus and Athena, who grant spells and mythical units.

Because most cities sit on islands, ships carry armies and every attack is a naval operation. Players found new cities, join alliances, take part in coordinated sieges and compete for world wonders or domination victories. Worlds run on real-time timers, so planning and logging in at the right moment matter.

InnoGames launched the browser version in 2009 and added iOS and Android apps in 2013 that play on the same worlds. The game is free to play, with gold and premium advisors offered for real money.
