Overview
Embers Adrift is an independent fantasy MMORPG from Stormhaven Studios set in the Lands of the Ember, a world damaged by an outbreak of corrupted ember energy. It aims for the slower, group-centric style of early MMORPGs rather than fast solo questing.
The interface is deliberately minimal: there is no quest tracker pointing at objectives, and players learn the world by exploring and talking with others. Combat rewards positioning and coordination, and the game encourages grouping through camps and dungeons, while still giving solo players places to hunt. Crafting and gathering supply much of the gear.
The game is entirely PvE. It is a one-time purchase on Steam with an optional subscription that adds extra character slots, more storage and convenience features. A free trial covering the early areas has also been offered.
