Seafight

Browser-based pirate MMO about outfitting sailing ships, hunting sea monsters and treasure, and fighting other captains in real-time naval battles.

Overview

Seafight is one of Bigpoint's earliest games, a pirate-themed online game played in the browser. Players captain a sailing ship on open seas dotted with islands, monsters, and treasure.

Most of the time is spent at sea. Captains sink sea creatures and NPC ships, search for treasure, and complete quests to earn gold and resources. That income goes into larger hulls, cannons, ammunition types, sails, and crew upgrades, so a big part of progression is building a stronger ship.

Combat happens in real time, and other players can attack you as well, which gives the seas a steady PvP element. Large fleet battles and events bring many players together at once. Seafight is free to play; an in-game shop sells premium currency that speeds up progress and unlocks extra equipment.
