Overview

PlanetSide 2 is a massively multiplayer first-person shooter set on the planet Auraxis. Three factions, the Terran Republic, the New Conglomerate and the Vanu Sovereignty, fight for territory across large continents in battles that can involve hundreds of players at once.

Players choose from infantry classes such as medic, engineer and infiltrator, and can pull tanks, transports and aircraft. Bases and territories change hands as factions capture them, and continent locks reward the side that holds the most ground. Outfits work like guilds and can coordinate squads and platoons, and there is outfit-built construction.

Progression unlocks weapons, attachments and abilities through certification points. The game is free to play on PC and PlayStation, with a store for weapons, cosmetics and boosts, and an optional membership.
