A space flight sim set in a 1:1 scale Milky Way, where players trade, explore, mine and fight in a shared galaxy shaped by community goals.
Elite Dangerous is a space simulation from Frontier Developments set in a full-scale model of the Milky Way, with billions of star systems. Players start with a small ship and some credits and choose their own path.
Careers include trading cargo between stations, mining asteroids, bounty hunting, exploring distant systems to map and sell data, and fighting the alien Thargoids. Ships are flown with detailed controls and support joysticks and HOTAS setups. The Odyssey expansion added walking on planets and first-person ground missions on PC.
All players share one galaxy where factions, powers and community goals change over time. Players can meet in open play, join private groups or play solo in the same universe. Squadrons work like guilds, and fleet carriers act as mobile bases. The game is a one-time purchase with optional cosmetic purchases. Console versions remain online but no longer receive new content.
