Overview

Imperia Online is a medieval strategy game from the Bulgarian studio Imperia Online JSC. Players develop a capital and then colonize or conquer more provinces, balancing resources, population and research while raising an army and fortifying their holdings.

Combat uses formations and unit types such as spearmen, archers and cavalry, and battles are often fought between alliances. Worlds are organized into eras or realms with set durations and victory conditions, after which players can start again. Great Houses and alliance wars give the game a strong cooperative layer.

The game launched in the browser in 2005 and later reached Windows through Steam and iOS and Android. It is free to play, with diamonds sold for real money that speed up construction, research and other timers.
