Overview

Evony is a medieval strategy game played in the browser. Players build a city, manage food, wood, stone and iron, recruit heroes to lead armies, and expand by founding or capturing more cities on a large map.

As with similar games, alliances are central: members share resources, send reinforcements and fight for control of valleys and rival cities. Construction, research and troop movement run on real-time timers.

The browser game launched in 2009 and is still offered at evony.com, which is operated under uCool. It is free to play, with paid items for speed-ups and resources. The better-known mobile game Evony: The King's Return is a separate product and is not covered by this entry. Players interested in the original browser experience can still sign in and play at the official site.
