Overview

The West is a browser role-playing game set on the American frontier of the 19th century. Players create a cowboy-era character, choose a class, and spend skill points on attributes that decide which jobs, gear and fights they can handle.

Most activity runs on timers: you queue jobs such as herding cattle or building fences to earn money, experience and items, travel between locations on a large map, and follow long quest chains. Energy limits how much work can be done at once, so sessions tend to be short and spread across the day.

Players can found or join towns, pool resources to upgrade buildings, and form alliances. Combat includes one-on-one duels and organized fort battles between groups. Worlds are run as separate servers in many languages, with events added through the year. The game is free to play, and an optional premium currency buys conveniences.
