Kingdom of Loathing

A browser RPG of stick-figure art and absurd jokes, where you spend daily turns on adventures, crafting and clan dungeons.

Overview

Kingdom of Loathing is a browser-based role-playing game from Asymmetric Publications, running since 2003. It is known for hand-drawn stick-figure art and writing full of puns, parody and surreal humor, set in a kingdom where the currency is meat.

Each day you receive a limited number of adventures, extended by eating, drinking and resting, and spend them exploring zones, fighting monsters in turn-based combat and completing quests. Characters choose one of six classes, and the main progression comes from ascending: finishing the quest line, then restarting with permanent perks and optional challenge paths that change the rules.

Players trade in an extensive player-run mall, join clans that run shared dungeons and raids, and chat in many channels. There is opt-in PvP. The game is free to play, supported by donations that grant a monthly special item, plus merchandise.
