Overview

Silkroad Online is a fantasy MMORPG set along the Silk Road in the 7th century, with regions based on China, Central Asia and Europe. Characters are either Chinese or European, each with its own weapons and skill trees.

Its best-known system is the job system: players can become traders who move goods between cities, hunters who protect caravans, or thieves who raid them, which creates open PvP around trade routes. Guilds also fight over fortresses in Fortress War, and there are dungeons and unique monsters to hunt.

Joymax runs several international servers, some with different level caps and update schedules. The game is free to play with premium items. The game first launched in 2005 and is one of the earlier Korean free-to-play MMORPGs released for international players.
