Overview

Secret World Legends is set in the present-day real world, where folklore, horror stories and conspiracies turn out to be true. Players join one of three secret societies, the Templars, the Illuminati or the Dragon, and investigate events in places such as a fog-bound New England town, Egypt, Transylvania and Tokyo.

It is a relaunch of The Secret World from 2012, rebuilt with action combat and free-to-play progression. There are no fixed classes: players combine two weapons and build from a wide pool of abilities. Investigation missions are a standout feature, asking players to research clues, read in-game documents and even search the real web to solve puzzles.

Dungeons, raids and scenarios provide group content, and cabals act as guilds. The game is free to play, with an optional patron membership and a store for cosmetics and keys. It is now mainly maintained rather than expanded.
