Overview

Elethor is a text-based MMO with a near-future science fiction setting. Players arrive as colonists on a harsh alien world and fight creatures such as Lava Worms and Skrivets using guns and injections instead of swords and potions. It is the long-running project of a single developer.

The main loop ties combat to crafting. Every piece of equipment is made by players, so you fight monsters for drops, mine ore, and train skills to build and then upgrade your gear in several ways. Gathering and fighting can keep running in the background, which lets players make progress between short visits. Quests give direction along the way.

Players can join corporations, the game's version of guilds, and sell materials on a shared market. The site is built to work well on phones as well as desktop browsers. Elethor is free to play, and the developer posts patch notes and keeps a wiki.
