Overview

Brighter Shores is an online RPG from Fen Research, the studio of RuneScape co-creator Andrew Gower. The world is split into episodes, each a region with its own town, story, professions and combat style, and players move between them as they progress.

Movement and actions use point-and-click controls, and much of the play is about leveling professions such as gathering, crafting and delivery jobs. Combat uses a system of matching attack types to enemy weaknesses. The game borrows the relaxed skill-grinding feel of classic browser-era MMORPGs while using its own art and structure.

Brighter Shores has been in early access on Steam since November 2024. The first episodes are free, and a Premium Pass unlocks the rest of the episodes and extra features.
