Overview

Aion Classic runs on its own servers apart from the live Aion service. It began from the game's early-era content and has been reintroducing later updates step by step, so players level and gear up at a slower pace than on the current live servers.

The core of the game is the same: players pick the Elyos or the Asmodians, gain wings for flight, follow a class path, and fight over fortresses in the Abyss while the Balaur threaten both sides. Recent updates in Europe have raised the level cap and added classes such as the Brawler and Phoenix, along with new zones and dungeons.

NCSOFT launched Aion Classic in the Americas in June 2021, and Gameforge opened a European version in April 2023. Both are free to play. The North American version sells an optional Siel's Aura membership that boosts experience and loot, and the European version has an optional in-game shop.
