Overview

Carrion Fields is a long-running text RPG set in Thera, a dark fantasy world of conflict between factions and gods. Volunteer immortals act as game masters and play the gods in character, and roleplay is required and enforced.

Players choose from 21 races and 17 classes, with deep specializations: necromancers can become liches or vampyres, shapeshifters take beast forms, rangers master terrains, and thieves set traps and brew poisons. Seven player-run cabals fight a constant struggle for power, and limited and legendary items are contested. PvE content includes quests, puzzles, raids and dungeons.

The game is free with no paid perks or cosmetics, funded by donations. It is listed on Steam as a free download, and Mudlet users can connect to carrionfields.net on port 4449.
