Overview

Shakes & Fidget is a fantasy role-playing game from the German studio Playa Games, based on a webcomic that pokes fun at World of Warcraft and other pop culture. Its world is full of jokes aimed at films, fairy tales and other games, and the art keeps the cartoon style of the comic.

Play revolves around a tavern where you pick timed quests, wait for them to finish, then collect gold, experience and gear. You choose from a long list of classes, each tied to strength, dexterity or intelligence, and raise five core attributes as you level. Dungeons, an arena for fighting other players, and guilds give longer goals, and because many tasks run on timers the game works well in brief check-ins.

The game started in desktop browsers in 2009 and later came to Android, iOS and Steam. It is free to play. Gold is earned in game, while mushrooms, the premium currency, can also be bought with real money to speed things up.
